The Voice Past Winners: Where are they now?

As one of the most renowned singing competitions, The Voice has helped launch the careers of many artists since its inception in 2011. Thanks to its unique format, in which contestants are judged in a “blind audition” and then divided into teams, the show is one of the most popular among viewers… Even comparing its rating vs. American Idol.

Part of the appeal, of course, it’s to watch some of the most renowned music stars, such as Christina Aguilera or Pharrell, give advice to their artists. While the show has been very popular, many people wonder if The Voice has ever produced anyone famous.

The truth is that, despite receiving some solid rewards as The Voice winners, not all the champions have become big stars. At least, not when discussing mainstream’s success. But that doesn’t mean that they haven’t built solid careers. Check out all the show’s winners and where they are now.

Season 1 – Javier Colon (Team Adam)

The first The Voice winner ever (in America, at least) was Javier Colon, who took home the title back in 2011. Following his time on The Voice, Colon continued recording music and touring around the country. He’s released two albums: 2011’s Come Through For You and his 2016 album, Gravity.

Season 2 – Jermaine Paul (Team Blake)

Since winning Season 2, Paul has kept a low profile. His most recent music releases on Spotify and YouTube include the single “Water” from 2019, preceded by “Working Sista” in 2015. Per NBC Insider, on his LinkedIn profile, he identifies himself as the current CEO of CJAS Music.

Season 3 – Cassadee Pope (Team Blake)

In Season 3, Cassadee Pope became the first woman to win the show. Before The Voice, she sang in the band Hey Monday. After triumphing with a country sound, she has returned to her pop-punk roots, releasing the grunge single “People That I Love Leave” in 2023.

Season 4 – Danielle Bradbery (Team Blake)

Danielle Bradbery’s impressive vocals made her the fourth winner of the show. After winning, she released a self-titled album in 2013 and worked with musicians such as  Diplo, Thomas Rhett, and Nick Jonas. Her latest single was “A Special Place,” released in 2023.

Season 5 – Tessanne Chin (Team Adam)

Tessanne Chin joined Team Adam and quickly became one of the fan-favorite contestants of the season. After winning, she released two studio albums, in 2023 she welcomed her second daughter, and became a producer. She has also released new music under the record label Natural High Jamaica.

Season 6 – Josh Kaufman (Team Usher)

Kaufman was first part of Team Adam, but when he lost in the battle rounds, Usher saved him. And that proved to be the right decision. After winning The Voice, Kaufman released his first album and then went to participate in Broadway plays.

Season 7 – Craig Wayne Boyd (Team Blake)

After winning on The Voice, Boyd dropped a hit, “My Baby’s Got a Smile on her Face,” which shot to No. 1 on the country charts that December. In 2017, he put out his studio album, Top Shelf, sticking to his love for country music. And in 2023, he released the sweet song “One Last Line” as a Valentine’s Day gift for his wife.

Season 8 – Sawyer Fredericks (Team Pharrell)

Sawyer Fredericks gave Pharrell his first win to date, back in 2015. Since then, he has released several albums and EPs, including his most recent “The Golden Tree” in 2023. His both debut releases scored him placements on the Billboard Hot 200.

Season 9 – Jordan Smith (Team Adam)

Jordan Smith was one of the favorites to win the title from the beginning. After winning The Voice, he represented his home state of Kentucky in the American Song Contest in 2022. He has released three albums, including his Christmas album ‘Tis the Season.

Season 10 – Alisan Porter (Team Christina)

Christina Aguilera scored her first win as a coach thanks to Alisan Porter. Season 10 winner stays connected with her fans through Instagram, sharing regular updates. She’s also keeping busy with live performances and dropping new music, like her 2023 single “Meant for Me.”

Season 11 – Sundance Head (Team Blake)

After winning The Voice, Head dropped his debut album, Stained Glass and Neon, in 2019. He then released his second album in 2022, titled “Starting Again.” In 2024, he is touring and fans can get tickets on his website.

Season 12 – Chris Blue (Team Alicia)

In Season 12, coach Alicia Keys scored her first win thanks to Chris Blue. While he hasn’t released a full album, he has published several singles including 2017’s “Blue Blood Blues” and “Humanity,” as well as his 2019 release “You Are My Heaven.” Blue’s most recent release was the 2021 single “Moon,” a pop-R&B bop.

Season 13 – Chloe Kohanski (Team Blake)

Kohanski started the season as a member of Team Miley, but after he lost in the Knockouts, Shelton saved her. After winning The Voice, she changed her stage name to “chloe mk” and has continued to release music.

Season 14 – Brynn Cartelli (Team Kelly)

Known for singles such as “Girl Code,” Season 14 winner Cartelli released her first EP, Based on a True Story, in 2021. In 2023,  Cartelli released two new singles: “Secondhand Smoke” and “Lucky to Love You.”

Season 15 – Chevel Shepherd (Team Kelly)

After her victory, Shepherd has put out a bunch of catchy singles, including her 2020 hit “Just Like the Circus,” which she co-wrote with Musgraves. She’s also dropped two albums on Spotify: her 2020 holiday album, A Good Ol’ Country Christmas, and 2021’s Everybody’s Got a Story.

Season 16 – Maelyn Jarmon (Team John)

Jarmon dropped the song “Wait For You” after winning Season 16 of The Voice. But lately, she’s been more into musical theater. She’s set to play Cathy in Core Theatre Group’s production of The Last Five Years in 2024, as per her Instagram updates.

Season 17 – Jake Hoot (Team Kelly)

Hoot keeps making new music and playing gigs all over the country. Some of his popular songs include “Tennessee Strong” and “I Would’ve Loved You,” where he teamed up with Clarkson.

Season 18 – Todd Tilghman (Team Blake)

After winning The Voice, Tilghman returned to his small town in Mississippi and released several singles as well as a holiday EP. That same year, Shelton invited Tilghman to join him for a performance at the legendary Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

Season 19 – Carter Rubin (Team Gwen)

Carter Rubin became the youngest male artist to win the competition. Rubin has released several singles, including his most recents: “mess me up” and “last time.”  He frequently updates his fans on his Instagram account.

Season 20 – Cam Anthony (Team Blake)

Anthony’s career has been filled with successful performances. Even after his win, he keeps delighting his growing audience of 60,000 subscribers with amazing covers. In 2023, he dropped an original jazz track titled “Keep It Between Us.”

Season 21 – Girl Named Tom (Team Kelly)

After winning, Girl Named Tom teamed up with Pentatonix for their “A Christmas Spectacular” tour in 2022. That same year, they brought out a holiday album filled with Christmas classics called One More Christmas. Then, in 2023, they released their very first original single, “What a View.”

Season 22 – Bryce Leatherwood (Team Blake)

Blake’s pupil was one of the headlining acts for the 2023 Barefoot Country Music Fest in Wildwood, New Jersey, after his win.He also released his debut single, “The Finger.” He also returned to The Voice finale of Season 24 to perform.

Season 23 – Gina Miles (Team Niall)

While she won in 2023, Miles has released some music. Alongside her self-released EP “Who Are You” in 2022, she signed a contract with Republic Records and she is still performing.
