Streaming Guide: What to Watch This Weekend (Feb 14–16)

This Valentine’s Day, your home screen is a battlefield where high-stakes crime thrillers and gothic scandals are aggressively out-streaming traditional rom-coms.

While the dinner and a movie crowd might be braving the lines for “Wuthering Heights,” the real action is happening on your couch. We are seeing a massive shift in February programming; streamers are ditching the saccharine “meet-cute” tropes in favor of gritty heist dramas, messy reality TV milestones, and even a heavy dose of nostalgia for ’90s “It Couples.” Whether you’re celebrating with a partner or hiding from the holiday entirely, this weekend’s lineup is designed to keep your heart rate up for all the wrong (and right) reasons.

Joe’s College Road Trip (Netflix)

Tyler Perry is officially giving Madea’s brother the spotlight in this Netflix original that dropped just yesterday. Moving away from the typical Madea formula, Perry stars as Joe Simmons, who takes his sheltered grandson B.J. on a cross-country trek to visit prospective universities. It’s part road-trip comedy, part generational clash, and—predictably—Joe’s unfiltered mouth provides most of the life lessons. If you’re looking for something light that won’t require a box of tissues, this is your safest bet.

The Night Agent Season 2 (Netflix)

For those who prefer adrenaline to rose petals, Peter Sutherland is back. Following the massive success of the first season, the new episodes find Peter as a full-fledged “Night Action” operative. The scale is larger, the stakes are global, and the tension between Peter and Rose remains the only romance some of us need this weekend. It’s currently the #1 trending series for a reason: it’s the ultimate bingeable distraction.

Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette (Hulu/FX)

Ryan Murphy’s latest anthology instalment has become the weekend’s biggest prestige watch. Starring Sarah Pidgeon and Paul Anthony Kelly, the series meticulously recreates the ’90s whirlwind romance of America’s most photographed couple. It’s trending heavily today as viewers fact-check the portrayals of Michael Bergin and Darryl Hannah. It’s beautiful, tragic, and perfect for anyone who prefers their romance with a side of historical melodrama.

Relationship Goals (Prime Video)

Kelly Rowland and Method Man are the duo we didn’t know we needed. This new series follows a morning show producer (Rowland) forced to compete for a promotion against her ex-boyfriend (Method Man). It’s a sharp, modern take on the professional rom-com that feels grounded and genuinely funny. Method Man’s softer side is already a major talking point on social media today—making this a must-watch for the R&B and Hip-Hop crowd.

The Conjuring: Last Rites (Max)

If your idea of a romantic evening involves clutching your partner in genuine terror, the final chapter of the Conjuring franchise is now streaming. Ed and Lorraine Warren take on their most personal case yet, and since it landed on streaming, it’s currently dominating the horror charts. It’s a dark, atmospheric way to end your Valentine’s night.
