While Ryan Murphy is known for discovering fresh talent, he truly excels when working with actors he’s elevated to stardom, and that’s the case with the upcoming “Beauty”. This time, he’s reuniting with none other than Evan Peters, one of his key muses.
Before joining Murphy’s “American Horror Story,” Peters had already established a solid career, but his role as Tate Langdon in the series skyrocketed him to fame. He went on to portray various characters over nine seasons and later captivated audiences as Jeffrey Dahmer in “Monster”.
In “Beauty,” Peters will team up with Ashton Kutcher, Anthony Ramos, and Jeremy Pope. The title is based on the Image Comics series of the same name by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley. While the exact synopsis of the adaptation remains under wraps, the comic’s premise offers a glimpse into the storyline:
“Modern society is obsessed with outward beauty. What if there was a way to guarantee you could become more beautiful every day? What if it was a sexually transmitted disease? In the world of The Beauty, physical perfection is attainable, and most of the population has embraced it. But Detectives Foster and Vaughn will soon discover that beauty comes with a deadly price.”
According to Variety, poduction is set to begin this fall, with FX ordering 11 episodes. While a release date hasn’t been confirmed, given Murphy’s fast-paced work style, it’s likely to hit TV screens in early 2025.
