According to The Daily Mail, in 2014, the New York Daily News got hold of a 32-page contract revealing several secrets surrounding the conditions of the contestants, as well as the behind-the-scenes rules about voting.

Per the reports, producers can choose to ignore votes, change rules on a whim, or eliminate contestants in “the events of problems.” However, per The Daily Mail, the show’s producers and NBC denied that any manipulation of the votes occurs and say that the clauses are “precautionary.”
