The opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris was not only an impressive spectacle that celebrated the Olympic spirit and French culture, but it also introduced several characters, such as a masked Amazon.

The character crossed the Seine River on a motorized horse and then appeared on stage in front of the Eiffel Tower, where a mysterious woman delivered the official flag that marked the moment to light the cauldron.

The combination of traditional and modern elements, such as the set performed by DJ Barbara Butch, made the event memorable for both attendees and global viewers, who numbered nearly one and a half million.

Who is Floriane Issert?

As happened with the masked man who visited nearly all of Paris’s iconic places, the identity of the Amazon who delivered the flag was never revealed. However, the mystery has ended and it’s time to find out who is beneath the costume.

The one who wore the incredible golden costume of the masked Amazon is Floriane Issert, the Gendarmerie officer. She appeared on horseback from the Pont d’Iéna to the Place du Trocadéro, carrying the Olympic flag.
