With the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris underway, it’s time to see the world’s best athletes compete. The opening ceremony was one of the most-watched events on television, with an audience of over one and a half million.

Multiple artists were present and gave incredible performances, but one of the most emotional was Celine Dion‘s, who returned to the stage after a two-year hiatus. The iconic star sang the French classic “L’Hymne à l’amour”.

The show had moments of all kinds: a long runway with the renowned DJ Barbara Butch at the helm, multiple floats arriving by boat, a new version of the anthem “La Marseillaise” by Axelle Saint-Cirel, among other things.

How many ceremonies will the 2024 Olympics have?

Now that the Opening Ceremony has taken place, there are a few weeks left until the next presentation at this year’s Olympic Games. This will be the Closing Ceremony, which is scheduled for August 11.

The opening was celebrated along the Seine River, for the first time in the history of the sporting event. It included a parade of athletes on boats passing by iconic landmarks, culminating at the Eiffel Tower.

The closing is expected to be equally iconic, as it will mark the end of the Games and feature traditional celebrations to conclude the 2024 edition, which has been held in Paris, France.
