The Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games, taking place in Paris, left many spectators awestruck almost throughout the entire event, but even more so when the mysterious figure appeared carrying the Olympic flame.

For over four hours, the identity of this person remained completely unknown and stayed that way until the end of the event, as the show never revealed who was beneath the costume, unfortunately.

However, it has been confirmed that it wasn’t just one person who performed the role, but several specialized athletes who made the task a reality. One of them was Simon Nogueira, and another was the genius of parkour, Clément Daumais.

Who is Clément Daumais?

Clément Daumais is a prominent freerunning and parkour athlete from France. Last year, he was responsible for scaling the world’s tallest building under construction, conquering the 600 meters of the Golden Tower.

It has positioned itself as the third tallest in China, the fifth tallest in the world, and the tallest under construction until mid-December 2023. Clearly, the fear of heights has never been an issue, as he continues to break records.

We truly enter another dimension; from up there, you have a completely different perspective. The 200-meter skyscrapers look very small, the clouds are beneath you, and you clearly feel as if you’re in an airplane”, he confessed to AS.

He began his career in freerunning and parkour at a young age. His passion for these sports led him to train intensely and participate in various competitions, where he has demonstrated his skill in complex acrobatics.

He is a member of La Fabrique Royale, a French organization that promotes both disciplines. This affiliation has allowed him to collaborate with other athletes and be part of important events and projects in the urban sports community.

He participated in the French version of “Ninja Warrior“, a popular television show that challenges contestants with a complicated obstacle course. His participation in the show was notable, as he won several times.

In 2019, he earned the title of winner at World Chase Tag, an international competition that highlights skill in “tag” or “pilla-pilla” within an obstacle course that demands speed, agility and smart strategies.
