Warner Bros. has confirmed that they’re working on a sequel of “Practical Magic,” which starred Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock as two witch sisters dealing with a familiar curse. While it wasn’t well received at the time of its release in 1998, the <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/movies">movie</a> is now considered a cult classic and a big part of that it’s the soundtrack.



Some of the reasons for the film’s bad reception at the time came to do with its tonal shifts, as it blends comedy, drama, romance and horror. However, the film has been appreciated, mostly by women, <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/movies/practical-magic-original-cast-then-vs-now-who-were-in-the-first-film">due to its iconic cast</a> (it also includes names such as Evan Rachel Wood, Dianne Wiest, Stockard Channing), as well as its themes of domestic violence and female support.



And, in that sense, the soundtrack of the <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/drama">drama</a> was a representation of those themes, featuring some of the biggest female artists such as Stevie Nicks, who wrote an original songs for the movie, Michelle Lewis and Joni Mitchell. On the other hand, the soundtrack features widely known songs such as Faith Hill’s “This Kiss” and Joni Mitchell’s “A Case of You.” However, one of the main selling points at the time of its release was Stevie Nicks’ original song for the material, “If You Ever Did Believe”, as well as a new recording of her song “Crystal,” both featuring Sheryl Crow on back-up vocals.

The children’s drama ‘Sweet Tooth’ has come back to <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/netflix">Netflix</a> with its third and final season, and the latest installment has become the number one series on the platform worldwide, according to FlixPatrol. Of course, there are many important themes that the series, based on the comic book series created by Jeff Lemire, explore, such as discrimination, fear, humanity and more. And, according to the show’s creator Jim Mickle, one of them is hope.



In an interview with Deadline, Mickle said that while Gus’ life wasn’t at stake during season three, “his innocence was” and that was the point of view they wanted to empathize with the story. “His superpower is really hope and finding the best in humanity,” he told the outlet.



Meanwhile, in an interview with The Gate, Convery, who has been playing Gus these past five years, said that he “got to grow up with my character.” He also added that “seeing more good and bad sides of humanity on his adventures, meeting new people, discovering new emotions… it was almost like one big life lesson, essentially.”

Set at Jooshin High School, a prestigious institution where the wealthy students reign over those with fewer resources in what appears to be a fierce hierarchy, the series begins when a new student arrives. Nobody knows, but he has the intention of disrupting this oppressive system with unexpected motives of revenge.

This timeframe is also reflected in Netflix’s release schedules. It’s uncommon for the streaming platform to release multiple seasons of the same show in the same year, except for reality shows. For fictions, they typically wait around 12 months between seasons.



However, it’s worth considering that the streamer sometimes extends the gap between seasons for certain Korean series. For example, “Sweet Home” premiered its first season in 2020, followed by its second season in 2023.



And then there’s “Squid Game.” Despite being the highest-rated Korean series in Netflix history, there’s only a loosely confirmed rumor of a second season potentially airing at the end of this year, three years after its initial release.



All signs point to a second season of “Hierarchy,” especially considering the post-credits scene in the last episode confirming it. But as for when it will be released, we may need to brace ourselves for a wait of at least a year, or perhaps even longer.

“Practical Magic” is coming back with a legacy sequel, 26 years after the release of the original film. Warner Bros. announced that they’re working on the film, with <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/movies/practical-magic-2-will-sandra-bullock-and-nicole-kidman-return-as-the-owens-sisters">Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in talks to return</a>, per Variety.

The girls reside with their witch aunts, but Sally, more rebellious than Gilliam, is determined to break away from them to be with the love of her life.



Despite being a commercial failure, earning less than its $75 million budget, it’s evident that the same fate won’t happen to the second installment, given the original movie’s cult following. Since the second movie will probably focus on the daughters of Sally, who were introduced to us in the first title, it’s quite probable that the stars will return in supporting roles. Whether you have enjoyed Kenneth Branagh‘s recent adaptations of Agatha Christie’s works or not, it seems they are here to stay. However, this time, the next reimagination of the beloved writer will come from <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/netflix">Netflix</a>, not the “Belfast” actor.



A few months ago, it was announced that “The Seven Dials Mystery”, the novel by Christie that revisits characters from “The Secret of Chimneys”, will be adapted into a series. This won’t mark the first adaptation, as a movie directed by Tony Wharmby was released in 1981.



The new show will be brought to life by “The Crown” producer Suzanne Mackie, with the writing helmed by Chris Chibnall, known for “Broadchurch”, and direction by Chris Sweeney, noted for his work on “The Tourist” with Jamie Dornan.



<h2>Who will be the cast of ‘The Seven Dials Mystery’?</h2>



For now, only three names have been revealed for the cast. Leading the ensemble is Mia McKenna-Bruce, recognized for her role as Linda in “Last Train to Christmas.” She is set to portray Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent, a character deeply entangled in unraveling a murder mystery at her family’s estate, while also uncovering a clandestine secret society.



Next, we have two actors who need no introduction. Helena Bonham Carter will grace the screen as Lady Caterham, the absent-minded mother of Lady Eileen. While Lady Caterham may not have a central role in the novel, it’s probable that the screenwriter will adapt the story to provide her character with a more prominent voice.



On the other hand, Martin Freeman joins the cast as Superintendent Battle. Building on the background of “The Secret of Chimneys”, “The Seven Dials Mystery” is set on 1925. It showcases a group of young men playing a prank on their friend Gerry Wade by placing seven alarm clocks in his room, set to go off one after another.

Although no specific release date has been announced for “The Seven Dials Mystery”, we can estimate its premiere based on its production timeline which, according to Variety, is set to begin this summer.



If filming starts and wraps up between June and September, the series could potentially be released in December this year or in the first months of 2025. The latter seems more likely, given Netflix’s already packed schedule for the second half of the year.

The actor told ThePlaylist.net back in 2020 that he is “fascinated by how you can bury it, you can silence it, but you always hear that echo. It changes you. It has its way with you.” He also described his character Any as someone who “has spent the majority of his life trying to muffle this guilt he feels,” and that he is affected by how his “son can feel the same type of guilt in a myriad of ways.”



Meanwhile, creator Mark Bomback told The Hollywood Reporter that his main focus wasn’t to answer the question of if the son did it or didn’t do it, but he was more interested in “trying to create for the viewer this very subjective experience of what his parents are going through.”
