Since its inception as a production company, Netflix has released many scary docuseries into the world, but “Worst Roommate Ever” is definitely one of the eeriest.

As the title indicates, the show features real stories about roommates who exhibit bizarre behavior and become lethal threats to their cohabitants. The first season premiered in 2022, with five episodes covering cases that would leave anyone sleepless.

If you were terrified by these stories, brace yourself for Season 2—it gets ten times darker, more critical, and horrifying. Here’s where the criminals featured in this second installment are now.

All on the criminals featured in ‘Worst Roommate Ever’ Season 2

  • Episode 1 – Janie Rid

The start of the new season sets a high bar for the next ones. “My BFF Tried to Kill Me” revolves around Rachel, who moves in with Jannie Rid in 1995. Jannie helps her roommate with everything, even taking care of her son. However, Rachel starts to become extremely ill, and the reason behind it is a diabolical plan unlike any other.

According to Bustle, Jannie Rid served 25 months in jail for aggravated abuse of a vulnerable adult and attempted acquisition of a biological weapon. Attorney General Michael Gadd didn’t prosecute the case as attempted murder due to insufficient evidence that Rid intended to kill Rachel. As a result, she is now free.

  • Episode 2 – Scott Pettigrew

In “Housemate from Hell,” 66-year-old Anita Cowen rented out a room in her California home to her younger coworker Scott Pettigrew in 2016. Initially, he was just an extremely messy tenant, but he soon became increasingly aggressive towards Cowen, prompting her to file a restraining order. Unfortunately, the terrible outcome she tried to prevent occurred.

In 2019, Pettigrew pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder during his trial and did his best to defend himself. However, his efforts were not enough to convince the jury. According to Desert Sun, he was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

  • Episode 3 – Tammy Fritz

“Burning Down the House” delves into the infamous case of veteran James Bowden, who befriended Tammy Fritz, the widow of his close friend and fellow soldier. When she invited Bowden to live with her and her young son in 2002, he accepted, unaware of the nightmare she would subject him to.

According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, Tammy Fritz was sentenced to 48 years in prison for the attempted murder of Bowden, a sentence she is still serving. Bowden continues to keep in touch with Fritz’s son, and they see each other as family.

  • Episode 4 – Michael Dudly

“The Lethal Landlord” concludes the season with a story that will haunt you for days if you’re not already familiar with it. It revolves around the tragedy revealed by the Randonautica app, which led a group of friends to discover a suitcase at Alki Beach containing a horrifying discovery.

All evidence behind the murders pointed swiftly to Michael Dudley, the landlord of Jessica Lewis and Austin Wenner, who grew increasingly frustrated with them, believing they were stealing from him. Dudley was convicted of shooting them, with evidence found both in his home and that of his tenants. He was sentenced to life in prison, specifically 560 months, ensuring he will be 111 years old upon potential release, as reported by Komo News.
