Netflix continues to bet on true crime documentary-style series, and this time, a recent addition has become the No. 1 in the catalog in the United States, just a day after its premiere in the catalog.
It’s a creation of Dick Wolf (Law & Order), titled Homicide: New York, and its first season consists of five episodes. Each installment tells a different case that has occurred in the Big Apple.
The TV show is a hybrid production, so it not only shows archival material but also has scenes recreated by actors, which has become quite common in the streaming giant’s recent releases.
Homicide: New York is Netflix’s most-watched series
“Homicide: New York” is the true crime documentary-style TV show that occupies the top spot within the Top 10 in the United States, meaning it has solidified itself as the most-watched series on Netflix in the American catalog.
Flix Patrol, the specialized platform site, reported that the new title is not only trending worldwide but has also surpassed multiple well-known titles on the service, including “The Gentlemen” starring Theo James.
The episodes follow detectives and prosecutors as they review their toughest homicide cases in this chilling true crime docuseries from the creator of Law & Order, Dick Wolf.
Barbara Butcher is one of the many professionals who has been credited as part of the cast, alongside detectives Wally Zeins, Bill McNeely and Al Titus. The creator himself served as the narrator.
