In recent years, there has been a renowned concern surrounding child stars, including their working conditions and abusive behavior from executives. A new documentary series, “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,” will reveal the toxic environment from Nickelodeon’s shows from the 1990s and early 2000s.

The four-part docuseries will focus specifically on Dan Schneider, the creator of famous Nickelodeon shows such as “iCarly,” “Zoey 101” and “Victorious.” The series will premiere across two nights on ID from 9-11 p.m. ET/PT on March 17-18.

In the trailer, Schneider is referred to in the trailer as “Nickelodeon’s golden boy,” and he helped launch the careers of big names such as Ariana Grande, Josh Peck, Drake Bell, Miranda Cosgrove and more.

Who will appear in ‘Quiet on Set’?

According to the press release, the docu series will try to shed light on “an insidious environment rife with allegations of abuse, sexism, racism and inappropriate dynamics with its underage stars and crew.”

The series will feature cast members, writers and crew from Schneider’s popular shows. Some of them include “Zoey 101” actress Alexa Nikolas, who has become one of the most vocal critics of the producer, speaking about her experiences on several occasions.

Giovonnie Samuels, Kyle Sullivan, Bryan Hearne and Katrina Johnson from “All That,” as “The Amanda Show” writers Jenny Kilgen and Christy Stratton will also appear in the series detailing their experiences. Per Variety, cast and crew members from shows such as “iCarly,” “Sam & Cat” and “Victorious” will also be featured.

Apart from the interviews, the series will rely on archival footage, scenes from the shows, as well as social media commentary to re-contextualize moments from the series. It will also showcase “a pattern of gross, abusive and manipulative behavior” spanning decades.
