Netflix: 'The Umbrella Academy' returns to the #1 spot on the US chart for the last time

"The Umbrella Academy" concluded its run and, as is customary for the beloved series, quickly became the most-watched show on Netflix in the United States just hours after its release.

“The Umbrella Academy,” one of the world’s favorite superhero series, has officially come to an end. While fans have been vocal about their opinions on the show’ development and conclusion, they stuck with it until the final installment, propelling the title to the #1 spot on Netflix in the United States, according to FlixPatrol.

When the cast was asked back in November 2023 about what fans could expect from Season 4, they mentioned the usual chaos and shenanigans, but taken to new extremes. They certainly weren’t kidding—who could have predicted THAT ending?

The truth is, Seasons 1 and 2 were outstanding, and it’s a well-known fact that TV shows often struggle to maintain quality over time. Still, despite any criticisms, it was a treat to see the band come together one last time for the finale.

‘The Umbrella Academy’ occupies the Top 1 on Netflix US

“The Umbrella Academy” has concluded its run, and the numbers once again speak highly of the show’s popularity. Despite the recently released part being the worst-reviewed, it has maintained its strong viewership, instantly climbing to the #1 spot on Netflix in the United States, as it consistently did with previous releases.

Remarkably, it quickly surpassed “Unsolved Mysteries” and “Love is Blind: UK,” both of which had been dominating the charts in recent days. Its only current competition is “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder,” which was released on August 1st and has already lost its peak in viewership. It seems likely that the Steve Blackman creation will hold its top position for a while.

While not all expectations were met in the continuation, some were, and although the final season might not have been as strong, it didn’t entirely disappoint.

If you’ve just finished “The Umbrella Academy” or are about to watch the final installment, take solace in knowing you’ve witnessed the full development of a complex series. And if you’re new to the show or haven’t heard of it, now’s the time to dive in—just keep in mind that the first seasons are where it truly shines!
