Netflix: Swedish action-thriller 'Stolen' ranks Top 4 movie worldwide

Netflix has once again refreshed its worldwide Top 10, and this time it's "Stolen", a Swedish production, which has become the fourth most-watched movie on the platform. Check out everything about the title here.

Netflix has been adding to its catalog a long list of foreign films that are truly worth watching, and this week, a Swedish production has become the fourth most-watched worldwide.

Stolen” was directed by Elle Márjá Eira, from a screenplay developed by Peter Birro and Ann-Helen Laestadius. The drama not only contains multiple high-voltage scenes and complex characters but also a lot of suspense.

The thriller follows the struggle of the Sami people to defend their indigenous heritage and the woman who risks her life to seek justice, according to Tudum, the specialized site owned by the streaming giant.

Stolen ranked No. 4 movie on Netflix worldwide

Stolen” is the new cinematic piece, running over one hour and forty minutes, that has managed to become one of the most acclaimed Swedish films, as well as the fourth most-watched movie on Netflix worldwide.

According to Flix Patrol, the action film directed by Elle Márjá Eira and Peter Birro has surpassed many popular productions in the catalog, including “The Tearsmith”, Erin Doom’s successful adaptation.

The story is based on true events and follows a young woman from the Swedish Sami indigenous community who tracks down a killer for personal revenge, delving into issues of racism and discrimination.

Elin Kristina Oskal, Martin Wallstrom, Dakota Trancher Williams, Elin Oskal, Jennifer Lila, John Anderberg, Lars-Ánte Wasara and Magnus Kuhmunen are some of the distinguished actors who are part of the cast.

The narrative is inspired by the eponymous novel by writer and journalist Ann-Helén Laestadius, who also served as an executive producer and whose writings took home the Swedish Book of the Year Award in 2021.
