The specialized metrics site reported that the comedy has surpassed other major titles on the platform, such as Liam Neeson‘s rom-com Made in Italy, the new animated original production Orion and the Dark and the Western Seraphim Falls.

Although it did not receive the same critical success as its predecessor, it remains a popular choice for those who enjoy irreverent comedies and exaggerated comedic situations. The film focuses on absurd situations and the cleverness of the characters to face the challenges that arise during their attempt to carry out the fake kidnapping.

Similar to the first installment, the plot explores workplace relationships, in this case, showing how the main characters face problems with their employers and take extreme measures to change their situation. One of the key elements of the story is the fake kidnapping that the protagonists plan to carry out.

The production features an outstanding cast, including Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Spacey and Jamie Foxx, reprising their roles from the first installment. In addition to them, the main characters are played by Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Chris Pine and Christoph Waltz.

What is Horrible Bosses 2 about?

The story follows friends Nick Hendricks, Dale Arbus and Kurt Buckman, who, after facing work problems and deciding to be their own bosses, decide to start their own business. However, their entrepreneurial idea becomes complicated when they are swindled by an unscrupulous businessman named Bert Hanson and his son Rex.

Desperate to recover their investment, the protagonists decide to kidnap Hanson’s son to obtain a ransom and solve their financial problems. Of course, the situation becomes more chaotic and comedic than they expected as they face numerous obstacles and complications along the way.

How successful was Horrible Bosses 2?

The sequel to Horrible Bosses was not as successful as the first installment, both in terms of critical reception and box office performance. Despite mixed critical reviews, the movie couldn’t replicate the commercial success of its predecessor.

In terms of box office revenue, the second installment grossed approximately $107 million worldwide. Compared to the considerable success of the first film, which earned around $209 million worldwide, Horrible Bosses 2 had a more moderate performance.

While many comedies focus on everyday comedic situations, the new film in the US Top 3 incorporates elements of crime and an attempted kidnapping, giving it an unusual twist to the plot and setting it apart from some more conventional comedies, earning it the title of a classic.
