Now, the British actor who brought Sherlock Holmes to life has teamed up with Netflix for a thriller series filled with drama and suspense. This series has become the second most-watched worldwide.

The first season of “Eric“, created by Abi Morgan (Shame and The Iron Lady) and directed by Lucy Forbes (This Is Going to Hurt and The End of the F***ing World), features a stellar cast and an intriguing, sometimes bizarre, storyline.

Eric” is the new limited series on Netflix starring Benedict Cumberbatch that premiered just a day ago and has already become the second most-watched production on the platform worldwide, according to Flix Patrol.

The specialized metrics site reported that the psychological thriller set in 1980s New York has surpassed multiple popular trends on the streaming giant, such as “Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult”.

The story follows Vincent, a puppeteer whose son Edgar (played by Ivan Morris Howe) mysteriously disappears. In his despair, he finds solace in Eric, a monster living under his child’s bed.

As the search progresses, the series delves into themes of personal crisis, redemption and the conflict between reality and fantasy, all within an atmosphere filled with drama, suspense and intriguing moments.

In addition to the lead actor and the young star who plays his fictional son, the cast includes several significant figures in crucial roles, such as Gaby Hoffmann, who portrays Cassie Anderson, his wife.
