Zoe Kazan has immersed herself in a new project, which is the adaptation of John Steinbeck‘s classic 1952 novel “East of Eden“. There have been several movies over the years, but now a seven-part series is coming.
Given the epic nature of the story, combined with Netflix‘s resources and the talent involved, it is expected to have high production values and it has already become one of the most anticipated releases.

What is East of Eden about?
The series‘ plot takes place after the Civil War and follows two half-brothers, Adam Trask and Charles Trask, who inherit a fortune. But a woman named Cathy Ames appears, seduces, and manipulates them.
Although it is set in the past, the human flaws portrayed make this story feel contemporary. According to the synopsis, it will explore the multigenerational saga of the Trask family, focusing on its indelible anti-heroine.
Who is the cast of East of Eden?
One of the reasons why the limited series is one of the most anticipated is because it’s packed with popular stars. One of them is Florence Pugh, who will portray none other than the main character.
The actress has been chosen to play Cathy Ames, but she’s not the only well-known figure from the industry involved—Mike Faist will bring to life Charles Trask, the character that made James Dean famous.
Christopher Abbott will play Adam Trask, and one of the latest additions to the cast is Hoon Lee in the role of Lee, the Trask family’s Chinese-American servant. So far, only these actors have been confirmed.
When will East of Eden be released?
Well, for now, its release date remains a mystery, as it is estimated that filming will begin sometime in 2025. Therefore, we could assume that the new version of “East of Eden” will arrive with its seven episodes in 2026.
