The period drama “Bridgerton,” based on Julia Quinn’s novels, is one of the most successful series on Netflix. And now, after two years of waiting, Season 3 will finally arrive in May to tell the love story between Colin and Penelope, portrayed by Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan respectively.
While Pen and Colin will take the spotlight this season, the other members of the Bridgerton family will come back for more drama and romance. Fans are also anxiously awaiting to watch Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate (Simone Ashley) in their married life.
“Bridgerton” is expected to have eight seasons, each one adapting the novels for each Bridgerton sibling. While some beloved characters won’t come back (Daphne, portrayed by Phoebe Dynevor), there are many storylines to follow. But, while many of the actors play teens of the series, fans wonder what their real ages are… And here are all the answers. Some might surprise you.
Bridgerton: Ages of the characters and actors
Nicola Coughlan – 37 years old
Coughlan plays Penelope, who in the first season is supposed to be 18 years old. However, Coughlan is now 37 years old. She was 34 at the time of filming Season 2 of the show. She also played a teenage girl on the comedy “Derry Girls.”
Luke Newton – 31 years old
Newton plays Colin Bridgerton, the third sibling of the family. While he is 31 years old in real life, his character was 19 years old in the first season. That means that by Season 3 he is 21 years old and ready to have a bride.
Jonathan Bailey – 35 years old
During Season 2, Anthony, the 9th Viscount Bridgerton, is 29 years old (he says his age in Episode 2). This means that he is slightly younger than his book counterpart (which is supposed to be 30), as well as Bailey’s real age.

Simone Ashley – 29 years old
Simone Ashley plays Kate Sharma, Anthony’s wife and love interest in Season 2. While Kate in the book was supposed to be younger (21 years old), in the show, Kate is 26 years old.
Luke Thompson – 35 years old
Thompson plays Benedict in the series, who is the second oldest brother of the Bridgertons. While his age in the series hasn’t been revealed, he is supposed to be between 26 and 27 years old.
Phoebe Dynevor – 28 years old
Dynevor played Daphne, the fourth Bridgerton sibling, in the first two seasons of the series. Daphne was supposed to be 18 years old, but Dynevor was 24 at the time of filming the first season.
Claudia Jessie – 34 years old
Just as Penelope, Eloise is supposed to be 17 years old at the start of the series. However, Jessie is much older than her TV character. Before Bridgerton, she appeared in other shows such as WPC 56 (2015), Porters (2017-2019) and Vanity Fair (2020).
Hannah Dodd – 28 years old
Hannah Dodd is replacing Ruby Stokes in the role of Francesca Bridgerton, who at the start of the series was 16 years old. After not having much screen time during the past seasons, fans will finally get to see more of Francesca in Season 3.
Will Tilston – 17 years old
Tilston, who is 17 in real life, plays Gregory, who is supposed to be 12 at the start of the series. Before landing the role in Bridgerton, he appeared in the biographical film Goodbye Christopher Robin (2017).
Florence Hunt – 17 years old
Hyacinth is the latest Bridgerton child. She is 10 years old in the first season. However, Florence Hunt, the young actress who plays her, is 17 years old in 2024. This is her first main role in a TV series.
