The 96th Oscars have a new social media ambassador: Amelia Dimoldenberg, who is known for being the creator and host of the YouTube series “Chicken Shop Date.” She will be interviewing celebrities as they step into the red carpet of the event, set for March 10th.
In an interview with A.frame, the Academy official website, Dimoldenberg said she “really cannot believe it and can’t wait to get to Los Angeles and do some amazing interviews […] To be doing this for the Oscars itself is really, where do you go? It’s all downhill from here!”

Of course, Amelia, who is also present on Instagram, TikTok and X (formerly Twitter), has plenty of experience with celebrities. She has interviewed A-listers such as Jennifer Lawrence, Cher, Keke Palmer, and most recently, Paul Mescal in her successful series.
Amelia Dimoldenberg’s best and viral red carpet moments
The London-based comedian has already been on red carpets before. Some of her most viral moments are two interviews she made to Andrew Garfield at the GQ’s Men of the Year awards in November 2022 and the 2023 Golden Globes.
In the first exchange, Garfield told Amelia she thought she “was great,” and she was surprised that he knew who she was. Meanwhile, in their second meeting, Garfield told her “I only ever want to see you,” making Amelia interrupting him with a shocked “what?” before the actor finished his sentence, among laughs: “I only ever wanna see you in these kinds of situations.”
Last year, she also appeared at the London’s premiere of “Barbie,” in which she cosplayed as “TV anchor Barbie.” She interviewed Dua Lipa, Margot Robbie, America Ferrera, Simu Liu and Ryan Gosling, also having a viral moment after she “dropped” her notes for him to pick them up. And, lastly, she also came back for the GQ’s Men of The Year Awards, in which she talked to Jeremy Allen White and Andrew Scott.
Amelia wants to bring a “fresh” format to the Oscars
In the same interview with A.frame, Dimoldenberg said that she was “really excited to do something original and put my own stamp on the Oscars, to create some really amazing moments and deliver some amazing interviews.”
