After starring and producing the romance miniseries ‘Fellow Travelers,’ for which he received an Emmy nomination, Matt Bomer is set to return to the small screen with a new multi-camera comedy series, ‘Mid-Century Modern.’ According to Deadline, the pilot has been picked up to become a full series on Hulu.
Bomer is best known for his dramatic works such as ‘White Collar,’ ‘American Horror Story,’ and more. However, he has also shined in some comedies, or dramedies, such as Magic Mike and the series ‘Doom Patrol.’

What is the series about?
The series centers on three lifelong friends—middle-aged gay men—who, after a sudden loss, choose to spend their later years together in Palm Springs. They move in with Bunny Schneiderman (Lane), the wealthiest of the trio, who lives with his mother, Sybil (Lavin). As a chosen family, they demonstrate that no matter how tough life gets, there’s always someone there to give you a nudge, perhaps even suggesting it’s time for a little neck lift.

The series was created by Will & Grace creators David Kohan & Max Mutchnick, and Ryan Murphy. The pilot was written by Kohan and Mutchnick. It has already been taped in front of a live audience with James Burrows directing. Lane and Bomer executive produce the series alongside Mutchnick, Kohan, Burrows and Murphy.
