The story itself follows Naomi, who embarks on a solo journey through the Caribbean to reunite with her boyfriend. There, she encounters survivors of a shipwreck who force her to dive into their sunken boat and bring up its drug cargo.



The high-stakes thriller set in paradise was directed by Marcus Adams, who was also responsible for “Long Time Dead”. During an interview in February 2022, the filmmaker stated that his approach was to “present the shark in moderation“.

‘The Postcard Killings,’ a crime <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/thriller">thriller</a> starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is currently the number 1 <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/movies">movie</a> on <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/netflix">Netflix</a> in the US, according to the specialized website FlixPatrol. The film has been climbing the charts during the week. In just two days, the movie skyrocketed from the eighth spot to clinch the top position. 



The film premiered back in 2020 to mostly negative reviews and lukewarm box office grossings, but that hasn’t stopped audiences from connecting to it. Directed by Academy Award winner Danis Tanovic (No Man’s Land), the film follows a detective investigating a serial killer.

<h2>Is ‘The Postcard Killings’ based on a true story?</h2>



The film follows Detective Kanon, who has to investigate a series of murders in Europe. They are all connected trough postcards sent to local journalists before the crimes are committed. To try to find the person or group responsible for the crimes, Kanon teams up with journalist Lombard.



As there are many crime thrillers based on true stories or true serial killers, there are many people wondering if there’s any truth behind the film. However, that’s not the case. The movie was based on Liza Marklund and James Patterson’s novel of the same name. Andrew Stern and Ellen Furman adapted the script.

However, per Screen Rant, there was a serial killer known as “The Postcard Killer” and his name was J. Frank Hickey. But neither author said that they took inspiration from the real life story.

Patterson and Marklund’s novel interested Hollywood since its publication back in 2010. However, the film was stuck in development hell. Some of the names that were attached included Patrick Dempsey to play Jacob Kanon, director Paul Greengrass and Dakota Fanning.

‘The Marvels,’ the last installment of the MCU franchise, will arrive on Disney+ on February 7th, almost three months after it hit theaters. The <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/category/films">film</a>, directed by Nia DaCosta, had the lowest-grossing box office debut in the MCU history, with $46 million in its first weekend.



Of course, the numbers without context don’t tell the whole story. With a production budget of $274.8 million, the film didn’t break even, only grossing $206 million worldwide (per Box Office MoJo) during its theatrical run. According to Forbes, the film needed to gross at least $439.6 million to break even, while having to earn around $700 million to become profitable.



Of course, it also didn’t help that it premiered just days after the SAG-AFTRA strike ended, barely having promotion. When it comes to critical reception, the movie was also received with mixed reviews with experts praising the cast performances, but criticizing the script. However, the movie has the opportunity to have a new life on streaming.



<h2>What is ‘The Marvels’ about?</h2>



The movie stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, and Iman Vellani as Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan. The three heroes team up as “the Marvels” after they begin swapping places with each other every time they use their powers.



In the long MCU timeline, the film is the 33rd of the franchise. It’s a continuation of Captain Marvel (2019), but, of course, viewers had to be aware of what happened in other Disney+ series such as Ms. Marvel and WandaVision.

While critics weren’t that enthusiastic about the film, the movie has a solid audience score on Rotten Tomatoes (82 percent). Also, the movie will be competing at the upcoming People’s Choice Awards 2024, for Action Movie of the Year.

In an interview with The New York Times, Holofcener explained that she wrote the script inspired by the thought of “What a nightmare this situation would be, if somebody that close to me revealed to someone else that they didn’t like my work, or even just one of my movies.”

The film will follow the life of Agnes, Shakespeare’s wife, who struggles to overcome the loss of their only son, Hamnet. It’s a human and heart-wrenching story set against the backdrop of the creation of Shakespeare’s most famous work, “Hamlet”.

Paul is ready to immerse himself once again in a musical, and soon it will be his turn for the film adaptation of Merrily We Roll Along. There, he will bring to life Franklin Shepard, alongside Beanie Feldstein and Ben Platt in the roles of Mary Flynn and Charley Kringas.
