The 2024 Emmys nominations have been officially announced. Among this year’s nominees is Selena Gomez, who will be competing for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series thanks to her role of Mabel in Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building.”

Gomez is up against Quinta Brunson (“Abbott Elementary”), current winner Ayo Edebiri (“The Bear”), Maya Rudolph (“Loot”), Jean Smart (“Hacks”) and Kristen Wiig (“Palm Royale”).

The star, who is also a businesswoman and producer, is coming from winning the Best Actress Awards at Cannes due to her role in the musical “Emilia Perez.” She won the award alongside her co-stars Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofía Gascón and Adriana Paz.

How many times has Selena Gomez been nominated for an Emmy?

While this is Gomez’ first Emmy nomination in the acting categories, she competed as a producer last year after “Only Murders in The Building” was nominated for Comedy Series. This year, she also can win in the category, as the series has been nominated again.

Gomez has also been nominated for the Daytime Emmy Awards two times for her culinary series “Selena + Chef” and “Selena + Chef: Home for the Holidays.” And she has also competed for a Children’s and Family Emmy Awards for voicing “Hotel Transylvania: Transformania.”
