In February of last year, Variety announced that Paramount+ was developing a spinoff show for “Dexter,” the beloved crime drama series that aired from 2006 to 2013, starring Michael C. Hall.

The original production centered on Dexter Morgan, a forensic technician specializing in bloodstain pattern analysis for the fictional Miami Metro Police Department. Dexter led a secret double life as a vigilante serial killer, targeting murderers who have escaped justice due to corruption or legal loopholes.

The upcoming prequel series, with the working title “Dexter: Origins,” will follow a younger Dexter as he begins his career with the police of Miami. Just a few minutes ago, the main actor for this new title was announced.
