While the actress stopped short of confirming what happened to her character, she made it clear she hasn’t given up hope that Eleven survived the events of the series finale.

Millie Bobby Brown Is Still Holding Onto Hope for Eleven

The final chapter of “Stranger Things” left audiences divided after Eleven’s apparent sacrifice to stop Vecna in the Upside Down. Although the epilogue hints she may have secretly escaped with the help of her sister Kali, the show never confirms whether Mike’s hopeful version of events is real or simply his way of coping with the loss.

Brown revealed that she has been instructed to keep the answer a secret. After the finale premiered, she said the Duffer Brothers reached out with a reminder: “They were like, ‘Do not tell anyone. Because we made it a secret kind of pledge.’ No one else knows. It’s just us three. And what we do with that information, it’ll be up to them.”

Despite the ongoing speculation, Brown admitted she leans toward the optimistic interpretation. As conversations about the finale continue, fans often ask whether she believes Eleven is still alive. Her response leaves little doubt about where she stands: “All people say now is, ‘Do you believe?’ And of course I believe.”

She also shared that opinions within the cast are far from unanimous. Recalling conversations after the finale dropped, Brown joked that many of her co-stars are convinced Eleven didn’t make it. “The whole cast thinks I’m dead. One, rude. It’s so rude of them,” she laughed, before adding that she encouraged people to “Believe! Let’s have some hope in here.”

The ambiguity was built into the ending itself. In the finale, Eleven chooses to remain behind after defeating Vecna, seemingly disappearing as the Upside Down collapses. However, the closing scenes show Mike imagining a future in which she survived by faking her death through Kali’s illusion powers, leaving viewers without a definitive answer. Brown’s latest comments suggest that, at least for now, the mystery is one she is happy to keep alive.
