Few stars have had as significant an impact on recent generations as Lea Michele. Portraying the iconic Rachel Berry on “Glee,” she became a central figure in TV culture and beyond, from the show’s beginning to its end.

However, her career extends far beyond the beloved Fox production. Since making her Broadway debut at the age of eight in 1995, as a replacement in the role of Young Cosette in “Les Misérables,” Michele has been continuously active. In 2022, she took on the leading role of Fanny Brice in “Funny Girl,” the same that Rachel had aspired to in “Glee”.

Michele’s personal life has also been a subject of public interest, particularly her relationship with co-star Cory Monteith, who tragically passed away in 2013. Recently, she announced the arrival of her second child, a daughter, on August 25, and previously shared details about the process of choosing the name Emery Sol Reich for her baby girl.

Lea Michele talks about the naming process for her daughter Emery Sol Reich

Since Lea Michele became a mother to Ever Leo in 2020, she has been candid about her experiences with motherhood, and her second pregnancy was no exception.

In a recent interview with Scary Mommy, she openly discussed her journey into becoming a mom again and how it differed from her first experience. When asked about the process of naming her then soon-to-be-born daughter, the star revealed that she spent a lot of time exploring baby name websites and followed a specific ritual to select the perfect name.

“My husband and I went out with my friend, Gideon, that I was in Spring Awakening with, and his husband. And we brought a list of 10 names. Some are names that we like and then others are names that we would never use, so we threw in some red herrings”.

“We just made them give us their thoughts of every name, knowing that the actual baby name is on the list. And we did this with our son also. It’s so interesting when you get to the name and you’re like, ‘What are they going to say? What are they going to think?” The actress stated.

She also mentioned initially considering the name Celine, which might have led people to think it was inspired by her idol, Céline Dion. However, Michele ultimately chose Emery Sol Reich, and we hope that her daughter will grow up healthy and strong!
