German series have been a popular trend since “Dark” took Netflix by storm in 2017, prompting every major streaming platform to release their own productions from the country. Now, Apple TV+ enters this space for the first time with “Where’s Wanda”.

The show follows the disappearance of a young girl, whose case is mishandled by authorities. Frustrated by the inefficiency, her parents decide to take matters into their own hands, digging into the lives of their neighbors to uncover the truth.

Who is Lea Drinda?

Lea Drinda, born in 2001 in Jena, Germany, is 23 years old in 2024 and stands 1.65 meters tall. Despite her young age, she has already built an impressive career, earning recognition and awards for her talent. Though she still has a promising future ahead, Drinda has established herself as one of the leading actresses of her generation in Germany.

Her upcoming role in “Where’s Wanda?” on Apple TV+ is expected to be her international breakthrough, but she already boasts an impressive 13 acting credits, spanning diverse characters, stories, and settings.

According to Chalcot Square, Drinda’s breakout role came as Babsi in “We Children from Bahnhof Zoo,” available on Prime Video. This performance earned her a nomination for “Best Young Actor” at the German Screen Actors Awards.

Another acclaimed role of hers was as Charlie in the series “Becoming Charlie,” for which she won the New Faces Award in Germany and Best Leading Actress at both the Hessian Television Awards and the DAFFNEE Awards 2022. She also received nominations at the German Television Awards and the prestigious Grimme Prize for Outstanding Acting Performance in 2023.

In film, Drinda is well-known in Germany for “Das Märchen vom Frosch und der goldenen Kugel” and “Alle wollen geliebt werden”. With the exposure she is set to gain from “Where’s Wanda,” international film roles are likely on the horizon!
