The original “13 Going on 30” followed 13-year-old Jenna Rink, who mysteriously wakes up as her 30-year-old self after wishing to skip the awkward years of adolescence. Garner starred opposite Mark Ruffalo in the fantasy rom-com, which earned positive reviews, grossed more than $96 million worldwide, and developed a lasting following thanks to its blend of humor, romance, and coming-of-age themes.

For Alba, the project marks another collaboration with Netflix following the 2024 action thriller “Trigger Warning.” In the film, she played Parker, a Special Forces operative who returns to her hometown after her father’s death and uncovers a conspiracy involving illegal weapons trafficking and political corruption. Despite receiving mixed-to-negative reviews from critics, the movie became a major streaming success for Netflix, reaching the top spot in dozens of countries after its release.
