The “A Quiet Place” franchise has become a leading title in the horror genre. What started with as a “pilot” film starring Emily Blunt and her husband, John Krasinski, expanded to include Cillian Murphy in the sequel. Now, for the third installment, they have enlisted Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn to lead the story.
In “A Quiet Place: Day One,” Lupita plays a terminally ill cancer patient, and Joseph portrays an English law student. Their characters have no connection other than facing the same danger from the mysterious aliens that kill anyone who makes a noise. However, this apocalypse will bring them together in unexpected ways.
Their on-screen chemistry seems to have spilled over into real life, as many have noticed how close they are, sparking rumors of a potential romance between them.

The truth is, for both of them, it’s hard to pinpoint any solid romances. Joseph Quinn is known for being very private about his love life on social media and has never been seen with the same girl more than once. So far, he has been spotted at a Paul McCartney concert with Alana Haim and on what seemed to be a date with Alicia Davis in Quo Vadis, London, but nothing more has come of these sightings.
On the other hand, Lupita Nyong’o has a more defined dating history. In October 2022, she confirmed on her Instagram account that she had split up with Selema Masekela, with whom she made her relationship official in 2022. In March 2024, the actress was seen vacationing and kissing the “Dawson’s Creek” star Joshua Jackson, whom she publicly introduced as her boyfriend after they were seen holding hands in December 2023.
Therefore, it’s quite probable that Lupita Nyong’o is still dating Joshua Jackson, as she would likely confirm a breakup like she did with her last partner. Still, even if they had broken up, all interactions between Lupita and Joseph Quinn indicate that they are great co-workers who have become friends, but nothing more.
