The awards season 2024 is underway, and the first major show, the Golden Globes, will take place tonight (Sunday, Jan. 7) at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Celebrating the best of series and film, the ceremony will be filled with A-listers. And that also means a glamorous red carpet.
The Globes are set to recover their shine after the scandals of Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which disbanded in 2023, that clouded the ceremony in 2021 and 2022, when NBC canceled the telecast. This is the first ceremony under the new management of Dick Clark Productions and Eldridge Industries.
Comedian Jo Koy is set to host the awards. This year, Barbie is the leading nominee in film with nine nods, followed by Oppenheimer (eight), and Killers of the Flower Moon and Poor Things (seven each). Meanwhile, on the TV side, Succession has also nine nods, followed by The Bear and Only Murders in the Building (five each).
