Elle and Dakota Fanning have been selected to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as part of the Class of 2027, and their unveiling will mark the first-ever double star ceremony for sisters. According to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s announcement, the siblings are among 32 entertainment figures chosen this year after being selected by the Walk of Fame Selection Committee and approved by the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

The Fanning Sisters Built Two Acclaimed Careers While Growing Up in the Spotlight

Dakota and Elle Fanning followed different paths to the same destination. Dakota became one of Hollywood’s most recognizable child stars with performances in pictures such as “I Am Sam,” “Man on Fire,” “War of the Worlds,” and “The Secret Life of Bees” before successfully transitioning into more mature roles in projects including “The Alienist,” “Ripley,” and “The Equalizer 3.”

Elle, meanwhile, began acting by portraying younger versions of Dakota’s characters before quickly establishing an identity of her own. Her career has included acclaimed performances in “Super 8,” “Maleficent,” “The Neon Demon,” “The Great,” “A Complete Unknown,” and “Predator: Badlands.” In recent years, she has also earned major awards recognition for both film and television work, including Academy Award, Emmy, and Golden Globe nominations.

Although each sister has developed an individual career, they have continued to collaborate behind the scenes. Together, they launched Lewellen Pictures, their production company, and have served as executive producers on several projects. They are also set to share the screen again in “The Nightingale,” the long-awaited adaptation of Kristin Hannah’s bestselling novel.

Their Hollywood Walk of Fame recognition adds another shared achievement to careers that have unfolded over more than two decades. While ceremony dates have not yet been announced, recipients have up to two years from their selection to schedule their star unveilings, making the Fanning sisters’ historic joint ceremony one of the most anticipated celebrations among the Class of 2027.
