Clint Eastwood’s Son Casts Doubt on Retirement Rumors: “I Have Not Heard That From His Mouth”

Despite recent claims that Clint Eastwood has stepped away from filmmaking for good, his son Scott Eastwood says he has yet to hear any such announcement directly from the legendary director himself.

The topic resurfaced after comments made by Clint’s eldest son, Kyle Eastwood, who described his father as retired during a November 2025 appearance in France.

In a recent interview with ScreenRant, however, Scott offered a different perspective, suggesting that the situation may not be as settled as some reports have implied.

Scott Eastwood Says Retirement Talk May Be Premature

Asked whether Clint Eastwood has officially retired, Scott made it clear that he is not working from any inside confirmation. “We’ll see. I have not heard that from his mouth at all. So I don’t know what that feels like,” he said, leaving open the possibility that the 95-year-old filmmaker may not be finished yet.

Rather than discussing any future plans, Scott focused on the remarkable body of work his father has assembled across nearly seven decades in the entertainment industry. He described Clint’s career as “something to admire, something to be inspired by,” pointing not only to his achievements in front of the camera but also to his work behind the scenes.

“The work, the artistry that he’s done on and off screen,” Scott said, before listing the many roles Clint has filled throughout his career, including producing, writing, composing, directing and acting. “The body of work is incredible.”

If Clint Eastwood has indeed directed his final picture, that project would be “Juror #2,” the 2024 legal thriller starring Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette, J.K. Simmons and Kiefer Sutherland. The movie earned strong reviews from critics and was later named among the National Board of Review’s top films of the year.

For now, though, any definitive retirement announcement appears to remain unconfirmed by the filmmaker himself, at least according to one of the people closest to him.
