In a recent ask-me-anything interview with Elle, Billie Eilish offered a characteristically unfiltered response when asked to name a belief she would never back down from.

The moment arrives as she continues promoting her upcoming concert film “Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D),” set for a global theatrical release on May 8.

A Line She Won’t Blur

Eilish didn’t hedge when the question landed. “Y’all are not going to like me for this one. Eating meat is inherently wrong,” she said.

The singer pushed the idea further by rejecting what she sees as a common contradiction. “Those two ideas can’t coexist,” she added, before quoting a common sentiment: “I love animals. I love all animals so much, and I eat meat. You just can’t do both, sorry!”

Her conclusion was direct. “You can eat meat, go for it. You can love animals, but you can’t do both.” It is a position she has expressed in different ways before.

Eilish was raised vegetarian and transitioned to veganism at 12, later turning that personal choice into a broader campaign. Through her platform, she has consistently promoted plant-based eating, highlighted concerns around animal agriculture, and worked with her mother’s organization Support + Feed to expand access to vegan food.
