The new season debuts with a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes based on an initial pool of fourteen critic responses, reinforcing the show’s standing among the most consistently well-reviewed television titles of the decade.
‘From’ Maintains Its High Critical Standing
With Season 4’s debut, “From” now maintains a notable benchmark: every season has scored above 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. The first season holds a 96% rating from critics, followed by 93% for Season 2 and a perfect 100% for Season 3, with all three installments based on larger sets of reviews. The latest part reaches the same top mark, albeit from a smaller initial sample.
Audience reception has followed a different trajectory. Season 4 currently holds a 94% audience score from early user ratings, while previous seasons show more variation. Season 3, despite its perfect critical score, sits at 73% with viewers, while Season 2 and Season 1 registered 80% and 87% respectively based on larger pools of audience feedback.
Created by John Griffin, “From” first premiered in February 2022 on Epix before continuing on MGM+ following the platform’s rebrand. The series blends science fiction and horror elements, centering on a group of people trapped in a mysterious town where escape proves elusive and survival depends on navigating increasingly dangerous supernatural forces.
The ensemble cast is led by Harold Perrineau as Boyd Stevens, a former soldier who assumes leadership within the isolated community. Alongside him, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Eion Bailey, and David Alpay anchor a narrative that balances character-driven drama with an expanding mythology tied to the town’s origins and its nocturnal threats.
Season 4, which premiered on April 19, builds on revelations introduced in the previous installment, including deeper exploration of the town’s underlying mechanics and the emergence of a new central antagonist. The series has already been renewed for a fifth and final entry.
