Disturbia is one of the many successful films in Shia LaBeouf‘s filmography, which established itself as a mega-popular suspense thriller in 2007, now ranking No. 2 on Netflix worldwide.
The psychological thriller, directed by D.J. Caruso and released in 2007, has become a strong trend on the streaming giant over the weekend, as it was recently added to the catalog.
The plot, partly inspired by Alfred Hitchcock‘s classic film “Rear Window”, offers a mix of mystery and dramatic thriller elements that keep the viewer captivated until the end.
Disturbia ranked Top 2 on Netflix worldwide
Disturbia has become the No. 2 movie on Netflix worldwide just a few days after being added to the streaming giant’s catalog, surpassing major productions like Thelma the Unicorn.
Flix Patrol reported on the afternoon of May 18 that the suspense thriller, which has received multiple positive reviews from film experts, has been classified as one of the biggest trends of the moment.
Shia LaBeouf plays the protagonist, but he wasn’t the only star in the 2007 film, as he was joined by Sarah Roemer, Carrie-Anne Moss, David Morse, Aaron Yoo and Viola Davis, among others.
The plot follows Kale Brecht, a teenager who is forced to serve house arrest after punching his teacher at school. With an electronic ankle monitor, he spends his days looking out the window and observing his neighbors.
He soon becomes obsessed with a suspicious neighbor, whom he begins to suspect is a serial killer. What starts as an innocent observation activity and pastime turns into something more sinister when dark secrets are uncovered.
