While Christmas arrives in December, the entertainment industry starts preparing for it much earlier. And not just with the defrosting of Mariah Carey, but also through the announcement of festive movies and series. One of the most anticipated holiday releases is “Red One,” featuring a unique plot guaranteed to deliver plenty of laughs.
In this holiday comedy, after Santa Claus (code name: Red One) is kidnapped, the North Pole’s Head of Security must join forces with the world’s most notorious bounty hunter for an action-packed mission to save Christmas.
The story promises loads of fun, but the real star item is its cast. Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, and J.K. Simmons are just a few of the A-listers bringing this picture to life. Naturally, the burning question on everyone’s mind is: How much were they paid for their roles? Here’s what the rumors suggest.
What Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, and the ‘Red One’ cast took home
Looking at the star-studded cast of “Red One,” it’s easy to guess that the film’s budget had to be massive. Not just to cover the action-packed sequences and special effects for its out-of-this-world creatures, but also to compensate its A-list celebrities. And you’d be correct, as The Wrap reports that the movie cost $250 million to produce.
Unsurprisingly, the highest-paid star seems to be Dwayne Johnson, who, according to Showbiz Galore, allegedly earned $25 million. Such a hefty sum comes from playing one of the lead roles and producing the title. It’s no secret that many A-list actors boost their earnings by investing in projects they star in, often securing a significant return on investment.
Next up is Chris Evans, rumored to have been paid $15 million for his role as the bounty hunter. Given his status as one of the faces of the “Avengers” franchise, it’s no surprise that Evans commands such fees, which have become standard for him.
As for the rest of the cast, the salaries are notably lower, but this is common in productions where two big names take the bulk of the budget. Lucy Liu is reported to be the third-highest earner, allegedly taking home $850,000 for her participation.
J.K. Simmons, who plays Santa Claus, is rumored to have earned $700,000. Meanwhile, Kiernan Shipka and Mary Elizabeth Ellis are estimated to have received $500,000 each. Finally, Nick Kroll was reportedly paid $300,000 for his involvement.
