The remake of “Nosferatu“, one of the most influential horror films in cinema history, is generating a lot of anticipation, not only because of its incredible cast but also due to its substantial budget.
The new version of the unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, known for its innovative visual style and unsettling atmosphere, has been directed and written by the acclaimed Robert Eggers (The Northman).
As of August 2024, it has been confirmed that the horror thriller, starring Bill Skarsgård (It and The Crow) as Count Orlok, will hit the big screen on December 25, making it an ideal choice for Christmas viewing.
Nosferatu’s rumored cast salary
“Nosferatu” has transitioned from being an acclaimed classic to one of the most anticipated titles of 2024, all thanks to the remake undertaken by Robert Eggers, which reportedly received a significant budget.
The exact figure remains unknown but it is estimated that the movie had around $40 to $50 million to spend, which would also include the salaries of the main stars, such as Bill Skarsgård as the vampire.
Surprisingly, Showbiz Galore reported that the Swedish actor (who is already accustomed to gothic and disturbing villain roles) is not the highest-paid cast member; that title allegedly goes to Nicholas Hoult.
Although the figures have not been confirmed by any of the actors, the specialized outlet revealed that the star received a total of $2 million for his role as Thomas Hutter, a young real estate agent.
