Mel Gibson and Lorraine Bracco joined rising young star Mason Thames to bring to life the new horror-comedy directed by David Henrie (the actor also known for Wizards of Waverly Place): Monster Summer.

The story follows Noah and his friends, who plan to enjoy a summer full of fun. However, they are interrupted by a mysterious force. To save their island, they team up with a retired detective and face monstrous adventures.

The movie will hit the big screen on October 4th, combining elements of horror and youth adventures, similar to classics like The Goonies, promising to be perfect family entertainment for the Halloween season.

Monster Summer” is the fourth film directed by David Henrie, who has been having an excellent year so far, full of new projects. It seems that the horror-comedy managed to secure a budget of $30 million.

Showbiz Galore reported that this amount allowed the film to attract big-name actors from the industry, such as Mel Gibson, who became the highest-paid in the project. The director didn’t hesitate to share a few words and said on X:
