Joseph Quinn has not stopped adding significant projects to his to-do list after bringing Eddie Munson to life in the fourth season of Stranger Things, and soon he will portray main characters in three blockbusters.

Despite his breakthrough coming with the Netflix series (where it’s unknown if he will return in a cameo), he gained international recognition for his role as Arthur Havisham in Dickensian, which aired from 2015 to 2016.

Over time, he has showcased his versatility as an actor by participating in a variety of genres, from dramas to horror and action films. His presence in high-profile movies suggests a promising future in the industry.

What are Joseph Quinn’s next projects?

Gladiator II – November 22, 2024

Gladiator is not only one of Quinn’s and director Ridley Scott‘s upcoming films, but it is also one of the most anticipated of the year, marking the return of one of the favorite and most iconic stories in the film industry.

Quinn will play the role of Emperor Caracalla, while Paul Mescal will portray Lucius and Connie Nielsen will reprise her role as Lucilla, as in the original installment starring Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix.

Of course, the cast is filled with A-list stars, destined to have a substantial budget and box office success. Some notable names on the list include Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, Mikhail Basmadjian, Tim McInnerny, Matt Lucas, Derek Jacobi and Fred Hechinger.

Filming has already concluded, and as of now, the drama is scheduled to debut on the big screen on November 22nd of this year. This means there are only a few months left until we finally have this new masterpiece, which was written by David Scarpa, available.

The Fantastic Four – July 25, 2025

Finally, Marvel has confirmed the official cast for the upcoming version of the Fantastic Four, and it will be Quinn who brings Johnny Storm to life. The ST actor will be joined by Vanessa Kirby in the role of his sister, Sue Storm, while Pedro Pascal takes on Reed Richards, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach is set to portray Ben Grimm.

So far, only these actors have been announced, leaving the rest of the cast a mystery. Matt Shakman is set to direct the film from a script developed by Jeff Kaplan, Josh Friedman, and Ian Springer, adapting the story from the comic created by Stan Lee.

The new MCU film is scheduled to hit the big screen on July 25, 2025, so there is still over a year before tickets become available. During the morning of February 14th, it was revealed that both The Fantastic Four and Superman: Legacy would be competing as they are set to be released in the same month.

Relapse – TBA

Relapse is one of Joseph’s latest films, marking his return to the horror genre. It seems that the actor has a great passion or talent for these types of productions, as he has proven in Stranger Things to be ideal for such roles.

Bret Easton Ellis, the author of American Psycho, will be directing the actor in the upcoming project. The writer himself took charge of developing the script, making this his directorial debut, eagerly anticipated by his readers.

The story follows a man who enters rehabilitation after witnessing a horrific death at a drug-fueled party. However, months later, fueled by his unstable personality and the invasive power of social media, his paranoia grows, sabotaging his rehabilitation program.

During an interview with Variety, the author and soon-to-be filmmaker confessed, “I grew up watching iconic horror movies from the 1970s. I wrote ‘Lunar Park,’ a horror novel, as a tribute to Stephen King. It seems appropriate that my first feature film be a horror movie. There’s a simplicity in ‘Relapse’ that feels like the perfect form for my directorial debut: something straightforward and impactful“.

A Quiet Place: Day One – June 28, 2024

The 30-year-old British actor has several major projects on the horizon, and one of those set to premiere this year, on June 28th, is the prequel to A Quiet Place. In this film, he will bring to life one of the main characters, Eric, while Lupita Nyong’o will portray Sam.

The cast is filled with stars, with some of the most prominent being Djimon Hounsou, Alex Wolff, Elijah Ungvary, Jennifer Woodward, and the lead actors themselves. Despite some back-and-forths, it has been confirmed that John Krasinski will make some cameo appearances.

Michael Sarnoski is the director and co-writer of the story alongside Krasinski and Bryan Woods. This time, the plot follows a woman as she navigates the terrifying first minutes of an alien invasion in the world’s noisiest city, New York.

Warfare – tba

After joining major projects like Fantastic Four, it seems that the actor hasn’t had enough of interesting proposals. Now, he will be co-starring in the new war film directed by Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland: “Warfare”.

Deadline confirmed that Charles Melton is also on board to star, and he will be accompanying Quinn throughout the course of the film, which will be produced by A24. The specific plot is not yet known, but it is expected to involve a considerable amount of chaos and drama, given its war-themed nature.

The cast has been confirmed, and among the stars are Cosmo Jarvis, Will Poulter, Taylor John Smith, Kit Connor, Noah Centineo, Michael Gandolfini, Finn Bennett, Adain Bradley, Henrique Zaga, Alex Brockdorff and more.
