Just when we thought Ariana Grande’s career couldn’t reach higher heights, she not only released her seventh studio album, “Eternal Sunshine,” to good reviews from both fans and critics, but she also landed the iconic role of Glinda in the film adaptation of “Wicked,” set to hit theaters on November 22 this year!

However, as the singer steps into the spotlight, her personal life has once again become a trending topic of conversation. Initially, there were constant comments about her body and looks, followed by scrutiny of her love life, which underwent significant changes in 2023 and 2024.

Since beginning her relationship with co-star Ethan Slater, Grande has faced harsh criticism, from being labeled a homewrecker to being blamed for dating again after the passing of Mac Miller. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, she addressed all of these comments. Here’s what she had to say!

Ariana Grande responds to the media storm over her relationship with Ethan Slater

Since July 2023, Ariana Grande’s life has dominated headlines in tabloids around the world. Just as her divorce from Dalton Gomez was unfolding, TMZ was the first to report her romance with Ethan Slater, who had also recently separated from the mother of his child, Lilly Jay.

While many media outlets emphasized that Grande and Slater began their relationship only after ending things with their previous partners, both faced significant backlash, particularly Ariana, who was repeatedly labeled as the one who tore Slater’s family apart. Reports that Jay was devastated by the situation only fueled the criticism.

Tensions escalated when Jay told Page Six, “[Ariana’s] the story really. Not a girl’s girl. My family is just collateral damage.” Despite the negativity, Grande and Slater have remained strong, with numerous outlets highlighting their growing love month after month, even sparking wedding buzz!

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Grande reflected on the situation: “I went through a lot of life changes during the filming of this movie. A lot of people that were working on it did. We were away for two years. So, of course, I understand why it was a field day for the tabloids to sort of create something that paid their bills… The most disappointing part was to see so many people believe the worst version of it. That was definitely a tough ride.”

She expressed frustration with how the media portrayed Slater, stating that it was the opposite of who he truly is—a genuinely caring person. Addressing the “homewrecker” rumors, she reflected, “I’m 31 years old, and I’m not a perfect person, but I am definitely deeply good, and I’m proud of who I’m becoming. I will never let disreputable tabloids ruin my life or my perception of what is real and good.”

While the couple has made a few public appearances, they will probably be seen a lot more during the promotional activities for “Wicked” leading up to its release at the end of November. Until then, one thing is clear: Ariana is unafraid to express her love boldly!
