Season 28 of The Bachelor finally premiered on Monday (Jan. 22) and there are several contestants that have caught Joey Graziadei’s eye, as well as the interest of the audience. One of them is Lexi Young, a 30 year old digital strategist.
During the premiere, Lexi reveals that she has endometriosis, which makes her dreams of becoming a mother “very tough.” However, in the trailer for the season, she says that she wants to get married and “start building that family.”
In the first episode, Lexi was one of the women who got to lock lips with Joey (the fifth of the night, actually) after they shared a conversation about hobbies. So, here’s everything you need to know about this contestant, including more of her experience with endometriosis.
What did Lexi say about her health diagnosis?
In an Instagram post of her account @lexicoletteyoung, Lexi gave more details about her journey discovering she had endometriosis. “This diagnosis took countless doctors appointments and so many years of being told my pain and symptoms weren’t real,” she wrote.
She added that the “invisible chronic illness” has made her deal with “surgery, fears of potentially never being able to have children and burdening my friends and family, egg freezing, endless medications that make me feel like a shell of myself and more days than I can count of looking fine on the outside while feeling stabbing pain on the inside.”
She also said that she wanted to “shed light on the seasons of darkness endometriosis can bring by spreading awareness,” especially around “important conversations that need to be had around infertility.”
Where is Lexi from?
Lexi was born in Ohio, but she is currently living in Atlanta, Ga. As per her ABC bio page, Lexi is extremely smart and she graduated at the top of her class at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The Bachelor spoilers 2024: How far does Lexi go?
According to spoilers from Reality Steve, Lexi will be around for a few weeks. However, she will self eliminate herself at some point. According to the insider, she sent herself home because her and Joey’s “timelines of marriage and kids didn’t align.”
