<p><strong>Shawn Levy</strong>, the director of the episodes, has spoken with Variety about how he will deal with the simple fact that the protagonists don’t look like they used to, as the filming of the series took an eternity to begin.</p>



<p>Well, he confessed that there is nothing to worry about, as the production team is very aware of these physical transformations, which they will conceal thanks to hairdressing, makeup, and wardrobe.</p>



<p><em>“We have already seen the cast of our series grow before the public, between the ages of 12 and 22, every human being changes profoundly. This passage of time is definitely not helping. That said, our hair, makeup, and wardrobe department are quite exceptional, as they use wigs, costumes and makeup. </em></p>



<p><em>And the 80s are also our friends when it comes to bringing these young adult actors back to their iconic characters from Hawkins. So we are going to use all the tools available to us. And I know that our cast is eager to get back to work like the rest of us</em>“, he said.</p>

<p><em>And you’re just like, ‘Oh, what else is meant to happen?’ And I think that’s probably like the first 20 pages of it being like, oh, this sounds like the ending of the movie. And it’s actually just beginning”</em>.</p>

<p><em>“Really difficult. Um, you know, I had a lot of physical therapy. And I had to basically learn how to navigate, my body with the set and with the dragon and, and with the costume. <p><em>I’ve never worked with anything more horrific in my whole life. [laughs] You know, it just has a mind of its own. If you move that way, it somehow moves that way. I don’t know how it does. <p>“Damsel” certainly joins other films and series which seek to subvert the classic trope of<strong> “damsel in distress,” </strong>such as the newest versions of “Snow White” starring <strong>Kristen Stewart </strong>and<strong> Lily Collins</strong> (awaiting for Rachel Zegler’s take), as well as <strong>Hulu’s “The Princess”</strong> (starring Joey King).</p>



<p>According to Collider, director Fresnadillo praised Bobby Brown for her performance, calling it “exceptional.” He said that <em>“She understood that this needed to be an extreme survival experience. <strong>And in order to make that believable, you have to convey suffering and pain</strong>. This is a movie about a transformation – about a girl becoming a woman – and you need to really feel the intensity of it,”</em> as the outlet reports.</p>
