<p>On the other hand, during the premiere held in New York on Tuesday, August 6, <strong>Jenny Slate</strong> (who plays Allysa, Ryle’s sister) gave a somewhat strange interview with Deadline reporter.</p>

<p>The author also serves as a co-screenwriter alongside the director and<strong> Daisy Lewis</strong> (Be Good, Doctor Who, and Downton Abbey). <p>In an interview with<strong> The List, </strong>Fingscheidt said that she felt that Ronan being the lead of the film made it<em><strong> “very promising,</strong></em>” as <em>“Not everybody can pull it off to have enough presence to hold a film. <strong>That is half the film, just herself on the remote island.”</strong></em></p>



<p>The movie was filmed in the remote<strong> Orkney Islands</strong>, and production had to do four trips in different seasons to get everything they needed. <em>“We knew that nature would be its own character in the film. It’s a film about a woman and a place, <strong>and so we had to adapt to nature’s rules,</strong>”</em> she told the outlet.</p>



<p>Another aspect of the film is that it is mostly about the interiority of the character, and her connection to her hometown, as well as about addiction. “<em>What we were trying to bring across with the film is how difficult it is to be sober,”</em> said Fingscheidt. <em><strong>“It’s still one day at a time, and you really have to learn to find joy in life,”</strong></em> she added.</p>
