With twenty-four Emmy Awards, sixteen regular seasons, and nine all-star seasons, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” has risen to become one of the most iconic reality shows of all time. With its upcoming season set to release in eight days, it’s not strange to see it among the Top 10 series on Paramount+ worldwide.

Since 2009, RuPaul Andre Charles has hosted the show, alongside Michelle Visage as his co-host, and alternating judges including Carson Kresley, Ross Mathews, and Ts Madison. Each season, RuPaul selects ten or more drag queens to compete in various mini and maxi challenges for the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar.”

And this is just the main production of “Drag Race.” The franchise also includes seasons developed in Chile, Australia, Canada, Spain, Italy, and many more countries. It even features spin-off realities such as “Drag Race: Untucked,” which provides behind-the-scenes insights into the conflicts among the queens that are not shown in the regular episodes.

RuPaul’s Drag Race is the No. 5 show on Paramount+ worldwide

Although America has produced numerous reality shows, few have transcended language barriers all over the world. “RuPaul’s Drag Race” has achieved this, as evidenced by its position as the #5 most-watched show on Paramount+ globally.

It has surpassed highly popular productions in the catalog, such as “Seal Team” and “Hawaii Five-0,” by a significant margin. Furthermore, it is poised to overtake “Star Trek: Discovery” for the fourth spot on the chart, despite the latter being in the midst of releasing its fifth season.

As mentioned earlier, it is highly likely that the show has garnered an impressive number of views in recent days leading up to the release of the ninth season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars,” which will be available weekly on Paramount+ starting May 17.

In “All Stars,” queens from previous seasons who may not have had the opportunity to fully shine return for a second chance at the crown. Leading up to the premiere, fans revisit the regular seasons to reminisce about the performances of the queens that will compete once again.

Recently, RuPaul has faced criticism for featuring newer queens in his “All Star” seasons rather than the original ones. It appears that his production team has taken note of these critiques and have brought back many queens from the earlier stages of the show, such as Roxxxy Andrews from season 5 and Shannel from the very first season.
