The Spanish production has managed to transcend borders and become popular worldwide, remaining relevant for multiple seasons and even having spin-offs. <strong>Berlin</strong> is one of these, which recently joined the catalog.</p>



<p>Starring <strong>Pedro Alonso</strong> as Berlin, the first season consists of a total of eight episodes. Packed with suspense, glamour, breathtaking landscapes and big heists, the story has become one of the most intriguing to binge-watch in the past week. According to Flix Patrol, the title is also one of the most-watched, making it into the Top 10.</p>



<p>For those who may not recall the plot of the original show well, Berlin was one of the fan-favorite characters. He is the brother of The Professor (played by <strong>Álvaro Morte</strong>), who used to organize the crimes committed by the main group, consisting of Tokyo, Rio, Helsinki, Denver, Nairobi, Moscow and Berlin himself.</p>



<h2>Will Berlin have a second season?</h2>



<p>So far, <strong>Netflix has not confirmed whether there will be a second season of Money Heist: Berlin</strong>. This is because it is still too early to know, as they need to first assess how well the prequel performed, both in terms of viewership and fandom. However, the first installment left enough room for the entire cast to return.</p>

<p>This means that Berlin could be back to plan another high-stakes heist. With new episodes, the complicated relationships of the main characters in the spin-off could be explored in greater depth, and new challenges for the couples could be introduced.</p>

<p>The spin-off takes fans back to the golden age before the events of Money Heist (La Casa de Papel), featuring Berlin and a masterful gang gathering in Paris to plan one of their most ambitious heists in history.</p>

<p><strong>Iku Ogawa</strong>, the creator of the show, confessed in an interview that bringing the narrative to the screen was a challenging and laborious task. The result ended up featuring appearances of beloved creatures such as Pikachu, Eevee, Dragonite and Magikarp, but it was not an easy journey. Additionally, the film director stated in a press release:</p>



<p><em>“Regarding the filming, the production took four and a half months, and each animator was responsible for four to five seconds per day. The technique used was 3D printing of dozens and dozens of gestures and expressions to give them maximum flexibility. In total, we made 86,000 shots for four episodes of approximately 60 minutes or more”</em>.</p>

<p>The show follows recently orphaned Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez), a teenage girl from Manhattan who relocates to rural Colorado after she goes to live with her mother’s best friend’s family, the Walters. And, of course, she has a messy love triangle with two of the brothers.</p>



<p>Based on the book of the same name by <strong>Ali Novak</strong>, the series will now depart from the original story. While there’s no release date in sight, showrunner <strong>Melanie Halsall</strong> and star Rodriguez have talked about what fans can expect from season 2.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Rodriguez also told the outlet that while the ending was a bit of a shock, she hopes for Jackie <em>“that she doesn’t get too off track and doesn’t get too distracted and just remember what she really wants.”</em></p>
