It was expected that “The Perfect Couple” would be a success, but not at this level. The new series with Nicole Kidman has become the most-watched title on the platform worldwide in September, just one day after its release.

The story portrays a murder mystery set against the backdrop of a glamorous wedding in Nantucket, where the entire Winbury family ends up as suspects, and the investigative team must determine who the culprit is.

The drama created by Jenna Lamia is an adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand‘s novel and not only stars the Oscar-winning actress, but also features other prominent actors such as Liev Schreiber, Dakota Fanning and Meghann Fahy.

Will The Perfect Couple have a Season 2 on Netflix?

Although “The Perfect Couple” is doing extremely well in terms of viewership, it is unlikely that Netflix will renew it for a second season, as it was classified as a limited series from the beginning of its development.

The ending left some loose ends, and with its unexpected twists, it might seem like the drama has a future, but that’s not the case. The first season has six episodes, which are already available.

TV Insider reported that the original book it is based on does not have a sequel, so if new episodes were to be made, they would have to create the continuation from scratch, and it remains to be seen if the author would return for this.

Some productions that were initially intended to be a single season have been renewed in the past, so hope is not entirely lost, and there is a chance it could return in an anthology format or something else.
