All on the songs that Harry Connick Jr. wrote for ‘Find Me Falling’

Given that Harry Connick Jr. has sold over 30 million records worldwide, it’s no surprise that he sings in a movie where he portrays a rock star. But even better, director Stelana Kliris had him write two songs for the film: “Girl on the Beach” and “Find Me Falling.”

The latter track doesn’t carry the name of the movie for nothing. It encapsulates the character’s motivation and worldview perfectly. It’s the kind of song you listen to when feeling lost, reminding you that uncertainty is a part of life’s journey. As Connick explained in a Facebook post:

“I wrote this song for my character, John. It’s about a man longing so deeply for the love of his life that he has lost perception of reality. His love is his entire world, and every moment he falls deeper and deeper into his melancholy.”

Many were surprised to see Connick portraying a rocker, given his strong association with jazz. However, he’s quite comfortable in the genre. In an interview with Forbes, the star mentioned that growing up in New Orleans, where playing different genres is common, he recorded many rock and roll tunes and even played in rock bands.

Thus, not only did Harry write part of the soundtrack, but he also blended his trademark style with the character’s demands to create two songs that fit both, highlighting the movie’s central message of valuing life.
