Netflix has a long list of documentary series that have been successful over the months, especially after their first week in the catalog. Files of the Unexplained, an original production, was no exception.
The first season of this show about crime, mystery and unexplained events arrived on the platform just a day ago and has already become the most-watched series on the service in the United States, according to Flix Patrol.
Created through archival footage, interviews, and reenactments, it features a fairly large cast, including Tijuana Ricks (Luke Cage and A Gifted Man), who plays herself and serves as the narrator throughout the episodes.
Files of the Unexplained ranked No. 1 on Netflix US
From the creators of “Explained” comes the docu-series “Files of the Unexplained“, which has become the No. 1 show in the United States just one day after its release, all thanks to American viewers.
According to Flix Patrol, the title is not only trending in the American catalog but also globally, as it managed to reach the Top 5 and dethrone several major productions, such as “Queen of Tears” and “Sex and the City“.
According to the official Tudum website, each episode of the first season explores seemingly inexplicable stories, which are recounted by those who have experienced them, adding an extra layer to the narrative.
These range from apparitions witnessed by guests at a plantation to a series of drownings in Georgia. Additionally, they cover an extraterrestrial abduction in Mississippi, severed feet washing up on the West Coast and more.
The TV show provides context to each of these events with news reports, documentation, witness testimonies and expert analysis. It also includes some recreated scenes, making it a hybrid production.
