Drive to Survive is the favorite Netflix series for all Formula 1 fans, not only because it provides a more intimate look into the world of racing but also because it offers exclusive material from the most popular teams.

After five successful seasons, the platform confirmed that it has renewed the docuseries for a new installment, which will feature prominent figures once again, such as Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz.

Drivers, directors and teams will have to accelerate both on and off the track, as the podium has three places, but the ultimate goal is one: to win. It’s only a matter of weeks before the episodes join the catalog…

When will Drive to Survive season 6 premiere?

The sixth edition of Drive to Survive will arrive in a few weeks, scheduled for release on Friday, February 23. The release date will coincide with the final day of Formula 1 pre-season testing, so there will be a substantial amount of material.

The new episodes will have a good dose of drama, chaos and plenty of adrenaline, especially after the statements made by the drivers and team bosses. Fans of the docuseries still find it hard to forget the confrontation between Toto Wolff and Christian Horner.

The 2024 F1 season will kick off in March, and before that happens, we will get to see everything that occurred leading up to it. No one knows exactly what might happen, as the show doesn’t aim to portray a clear villain or hero; things can change from one weekend to another.

What will the sixth season be about?

The new episodes will portray the events of the 2023 season, taking fans into the inner circle of Formula 1. According to the official Formula 1 website, the release date coincides with the last day of pre-season testing at the Bahrain International Circuit.

This will serve as an ideal preview before the first round at the same venue a week later. James Gay-Rees, Academy Award winner, will return as the executive producer alongside Paul Martin.

The documentary maker of “Senna” recently gave an interview to Formula1.com, reflecting on the impact the series has had so far and expressing optimism for the new installment, which he is confident will once again thrive.

“We’re genuinely enormously proud to be a part of this. There’s also a lot of satisfaction in being the first at these things, and I think in a way, it feels like the first mainstream access show (at least outside the UK) that’s had this profound effect”, he confessed.
