It’s been almost two years since the premiere of the second season of Hacks, the comedy series starring Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder. However, HBO has finally given an update for Season 3, announcing that it will premiere in the Spring.
Hacks follows Ava (Einbinder), a struggling comedy writer, working as a writer’s assistant to Deborah Vance (Smart), an aging female comedian trying to connect with younger audiences. While they didn’t get along at first, they found ways to connect.
However, during the second season, Deborah sues Ava, after she emails British television producers detailing Deborah’s problematic behavior. The series has won several awards, including three Emmys and a Golden Globe. Here’s what we know about Season 3.
When is Season 3 of Hacks coming out?
As we said, HBO has confirmed with a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the show will return in Spring. They didn’t share many details about the upcoming season, but they did share a still of Smart and Einbinder. The series was renewed back in June 2022. While production started right away, filming was delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, which lasted almost four months.
