Tom Holland has reached a milestone that places him in a category of his own at the global box office. After years of leading some of the biggest superhero films ever made, he has become the first performer in history to star in the four highest-grossing opening weekends worldwide, adding another remarkable achievement to a career closely tied to Marvel’s biggest cinematic events.

Which Movies Helped Tom Holland Set the Record?

Tom Holland made history by becoming the first actor ever to star in the four biggest global opening weekends of all time, a feat achieved across both the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s ensemble blockbusters and his Spider-Man films.

The milestone includes Avengers: Endgame, which still owns the biggest worldwide opening in history with $1.223 billion, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, whose $932 million debut ranks second all-time, Avengers: Infinity War with $640.5 million, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, which opened to more than $600.5 million globally.

No other actor has appeared in all four of those record-setting releases, underscoring his central role in Marvel’s biggest theatrical successes. What makes the achievement even more remarkable is its consistency over nearly a decade.

He first joined the MCU in Captain America: Civil War before becoming one of the franchise’s defining stars through the Spider-Man series and the Avengers saga. While actors such as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth appeared in Infinity War and Endgame, they were not part of his solo Spider-Man films.

Likewise, no Spider-Man actor before Holland had the opportunity to headline multiple films that reached these unprecedented opening-weekend heights, making his record a unique combination of longevity, franchise success and global audience appeal.
