Former Disney star Skai Jackson was arrested due to misdemeanor domestic battery. Jackson, 22, was arrested on Aug. 8 at Universal Studios, according to reports from TMZ and several outlets, which have confirmed the news.
Jackson is best known for having played Zuri Ross on Disney Channel’s series Jessie and its spin-off Bunk’d. In 2019, she released her book, Reach for the Skai: How to Inspire, Empower and Clapback. She also appeared on Dancing With the Stars in 2020.

Why was Skai Jackson arrested?
Per the reports, police responded to Universal after security personnel on site detained Jackson, the spokesperson says. According to People, deputies investigating the incident reviewed surveillance footage, which they allege captured Jackson pushing her boyfriend several times.
There were no weapons involved nor any identifiable injuries, the sheriff’s department says. Jackson was taken to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station and released hours later. Per Page Six, the case will be reviewed by the LA County District Attorney’s Office to determine if charges are warranted.
